AND SO IT GOES…#383

And so it goes indeed. The tantalising prospect of the final and utter implosion into pre-histoirc nothingness of the British Labour Party ( aka new labour ), is at hand. Whether that malignant sociopolitical canker is eventually allowed to disappear up its own paradoxes and contradictions however remains at this juncture,a moot point. It alone has routinely, institutionally and without the slightest affectation of pseudo-moral compunction served wholly and exclusively , the objective Class interests of the Bourgeoisie and the forces of Global Monopoly Capitalism at the expense of the socio-economic and political interests of the organised Trades Union and Labour Movement. To paraphrase Douglas Adams’ Vogon Captain on his discovering Hitch-hikers aboard his flying saucer, ” Death’s too good for them ! ” The Daily Torygraph opines thus:-

Chuka Umunna, the shadow business secretary, said the reforms of Labour’s financial links to the trade unions were right but could cost the party “big money”. He said trade unionists were “frightened” by the reforms.

Mr Miliband wants an end to the practice of trade unions automatically handing over a levy from each of their members to the Labour Party. Instead, trade unionists will only pay a subscription to the party if they actively opt-in to supporting Labour.

“Undoubtedly, we are going to take a hit in terms of our finances. But that doesn’t mean it’s not the right thing to do,” Mr Umunna said. “You can’t put money before politics.”

Mr Umunna said there was need to take “big money out of politics” and said the policy was a “big, bold move”.

Official records show three-quarters of Labour’s donations, or £2.4m in the second quarter of the year, comes from the trade unions. Mr Umunna insisted the “majority” of Labour’s money comes from individual small donations.

” Schaden ” and ” Freude ” spring to mind at this point in the narrative.
